Course Description
For the 2013 Headbanger Trail Challenge, runners may choose from two courses: an 12-km, more challenging route, or a family-friendly 3-km run/walk course. Both races will start and finish at the Radium Hot Springs’ Community Hall

12-km route:
Runners will start from the Radium Hot Springs’ Community Hall. After a brief warm-up through town, runners will travel south onto the Old Coach Trail. Following an old back road for 5 kms, runners will then jump onto a single-track trail (locally known as Deja View) with amazing views of the wetlands. The single-track winds along several bluffs and through the trees, before crossing the Old Coach Trail and ascending to scenic hoodoo formations. Runners will then join up with the main trail, finishing the last kilometre back into town and race to the finish line at the Community Hall. Total elevation gain is 224m.

3-km route:
After a brief warm-up through town, runners will descend to the valley bottom of the beautiful Sinclair Creek Trails. These trails are mostly flat and follow alongside the creek’s edge. The 3-km route will take runners on a loop through these trails, and back up to the finish line at the Community Hall.
